New Paper Route Gangstaz release!!!

The Paper Route Gangstaz (PRGz) of Philly (?), signed recently to Philly's own mad Decent, have just released their new single Bama Gettin Money as a limited free download on iTunes, and it is only available through this weekend. Personally, I prefer Diplo's version, but both are extremely dope.

Click here to get the free download.

The PRGz' mixtape will be up this tuesday the 18th, and you can preorder it now right here. You can apparently choose from a variety of price tags depending on how much artwork or extra stuff you want:

Random-ass people in rap vids

Have yall noticed the frequent reoccurrence of random people just placed in rap vids?
[<—PUT ON by YOUNG JEZZY N kanYaY WEST][<—I'M GETTIN' 'RICH AGAIN' by E-40 'N' TURF TALLLK]

These people (presumably father and son) are just standing there, apparently relevant to the assertion of Turf Talk getting "rich again." Are mainstream rappers now trying to accommodate their father-son audience? Are they trying to appeal to their now aging "real hip-hop" fans who are assuming the title of generation Y-going-on-Z? Are they trying to empathize with the Americans that are feeling the effects of the 'recession'? Or are they simply trying to maintain a more 'family-oriented' kind of attitude?

Oh—the song, "I'm Getting Rich Again"—is Turfffff Tallllk and E-40 reliving their path to wealth?

ummmmm.. more family pixxxx in rap vids
[<—PUT ON by YOUNG JEZZY N kanYaY WEST]
this girl has a look of resentment in her eyes..
[<—PUT ON by YOUNG JEZZY N kanYaY WEST]

a single mother and her pet/dog
[<—PUT ON by YOUNG JEZZY N kanYaY WEST]

ummm.. presumably these next pixxx are used to illustrate the crappiness of the 'recession'? Is 'Young' Jeezzy trying to attract appeal to the farmer/homeless folks who are going to 'stick it out to the end of the 'recession''?
[<—PUT ON by YOUNG JEZZY N kanYaY WEST]
[<—PUT ON by YOUNG JEZZY N kanYaY WEST]

I feel like rap vids from the future will simply be 'montages' of 'normal people' to give listeners just a 'slice of the life.'

oh and yeah i kno that its a lil sparse in terms of evidence backing up but thatts because its a new impending rap vid trend and we're only starting to see the 'first buds opening up,' or wtv the expression is..

Maino

Chances are I'm pretty late on this, but I didn't see too many songs of this subject on hype machine. Jermaine "Maino" Coleman is a Brooklyn, New York rapper that has i guess seen it all from his parents turning into druggies to becoming a rapper out of boredom of his ten-year prison sentence.

Check it out - Hi Hater

Search for it on u-tube couldn't find the real authentic video...

Slick Vik

Slick Vik, aka Vikram Rastogi, is a Sammamish-dwelling 18-year old rapper who enjoys bragging about his degree in thugology and encouraging aspiring cool people to wear their hoodie halfway. These things are in fact, important components to maintaining ones reputation, especially one who is "reppin Sammamish." So here is, "Hoodie Halfway." The song features the Quadratic Emcees and KAotic. Watch the video..

Hoodie Halfway

Buy Slick Vik's music on iTunes—no that ain't no joke. Fa sho this is the next high school Tunecore exploiter. No kidding the debut only lasted about a year. Notice how the "LISTENERS ALSO BOUGHT" section consists of "Jibbs featuring Jibbs," "Ay Bay Bay," and "DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince: Greatest Hits," among others.

It is only too bad that y'all can't experience the true beauty of "Tha Legacy." This album was a classic, complete with, "Haters," "Police," Police Pt.II," and my personal favorite, "Thugology." This album survived a well-rounded three years before it was either recalled by the managers of the Tunecore-iTunes relations, or Vik took it down himself, simply as a gesture that it should remain in exclusiveness. Either way, the suthenticity is evident.

Nov Ganon

Nov Ganon, aka Kevin Campbell, is an 22 year-old Brooklyn rapper that began his musical career in 1999. He scorns rappers that have a lot to say but never bring anything to the table and likes pancakes and "champane" together.

Seriously though, this dude's tight! He has a really tight song that features Daft Punk. It is perhaps the newest jittery "Jyeah" 125 BPM dancerap anthem with looped barks in the background. Think "Talk Yo Ish" by Mickey Factz. It's called, "Oh Yea."

Then there's, "Dressed to Impress." It samples Biggie's "Dress.. to impress / Spark this bitch's interest" from Hypnotize as well this same aforementioned 90s hip hop anthem's bassline. In essence this song is also tight.
